Calcareous

We drove down to Paso Robles after visiting Carmel. Our first stop was at Calcareous winery located on a hilltop off Peachy Canyon Road. This winery was established in 2000, and it has a gorgeous property with views of the surrounding hills and valleys of Paso Robles.
We tried the wines inside the semi new tasting room and ordered a cheese plate.
I enjoyed the wines and learned that Calcareous also makes the twisted sister line. (I enjoy those wines as well) The tasting fee was $10 each. We are all paying for these expensive resort like tasting rooms!!

The Calcareous 2007 Cabernet Franc was my favorite wine that we tasted.

We met Bodie, the resident doggie who enjoyed sitting under our table while we enjoyed our wine and cheese plate. I highly recommend getting the cheese plate here and just sitting outside. It is very lovely.
The drive out to Calcareous is very scenic and is only 10 minutes from downtown Paso but seems miles away from everything. (like one of those corona commercials)
